Lucky Kelson
Owner/Producer/Engineer/Musician
At the age of 14 Lucky's parents gave him a Sears reel-to-reel tape recorder for Christmas and the seed was planted. A native of Pensacola, Florida, Lucky is a multi-talented musician who started performing professionally in the early 1960's by playing the drums. In the 70's he began playing keyboards when he joined with his brother Robert, who was also an accomplished drummer and pianist. Together with their younger brother and sound engineer, Albert Kelson, they formed the "Kelson Brothers' Band." They played the local venues and did extensive touring across the south. Lucky plays guitar, bass, a little saxophone and flute, but is best known for his superior drum work and his artistic expression with the Grand piano and Hammond B-3 Organ . His musical influences are many but his favorite is "Chicago". Over the years his love of music attracted him to the production side of the business, where his skills and experience have enabled him to successfully bring out the best in his clients. As a musician, engineer, producer and songwriter, he is always up to the challenge to help his artist record a superior product. His ability to coach a vocalist to sing and perform with more emotional depth is another one of his talents . The finished vocal, mixed with the music tracks, results in a polished work of art.

It's not uncommon to have producers, musicians and artists travel from Nashville and all over the country to work on their projects at LuckyK Recording Studio. He also has worked on sessions with grammy winning producers, engineers and musicians in Nashville, TN.

Gulf Coast Idol at Seville Quarter Gulf Coast Idol is returning to Seville Quarter. Singers will be judged on their vocal talent, stage presence, personality and audience response. Like the television show each performer will get a verbal critique by each of the judges – but none of our judges are "Simon". Each week three winners will advance to finals. The twelve finalists will each perform one song. The top six singers will sing a second song for the judges. The Gulf Coast Idol will get to record their own (1) song demo at the LuckyK Recording Studio and receive other prizes. Winner must provide their own music tracks. Second place and third place will win prizes. The contest is open to talented singers age 21 and up. Participants may bring their own music (on compact disk), pick from our selections or sing capella. There is no fee to enter the contest.
